Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

at first i thought this one was a no brainer... you know, the richest person in the world. and while i was there, do a little online banking, using their bank accounts of course, and really clean up some debt.

 but then brad pitt entered my mind.  

oh yes. 

 i'd love to spend a day with him.. who wouldn't?

if i could trade places with anyone, it'd be angelina jolie :)

Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

this one was really a hard decision... how can you pick just one favourite memory?  After thinking about it awhile and looking through my pictures, i finally narrowed it down to this one.
although this trip was not my first time visiting the west coast, it was my first time travelling by myself, the first time i'd ever laid eyes on a palm tree, and the first time visiting california.

this trip was alot more than just a vacation.  it was a "starting over" trip.  it gave me the distance and space that i needed from everyone to collect my thoughts, regain my footing after a major life changing event, and truly feel that i was ok with moving on.  i had never felt more at peace with myself, and for the first time in a long time, happy.

day 3: a picture of the cast of your favourite tv show

i'm going to have to cheat today, because i really need to add 2 pictures.  one of the shows (if anyone really knows me at all) would still be my favourite if it was still on tv.

the second cast picture is the best show on tv right now.. i love it!

Day 2: me and my BFF

i`m really going to have to come up with more exciting titles for my posts for this challenge.. it will get a little boring after 30 days.  maybe i`ll do it in spanish. or chinese.. that would be exciting, no?

i must admit, i`m having a really fun time going through all my pictures and remembering all the fun (and some not so fun) times.

this is cheryl. the bestest friend any girl could ask for.  We`re the type of friends that can go a long time without talking to one another, and pick up right where we left off when our busy lives gives us a second to remember we haven`t talked to each other in awhile and pick up the phone to catch up.  
We`ve been friends since grade 9 when she started at our school.  that`s 17 years.. we were each other`s maid of honour in our weddings (she`s done it twice for me!) and we think of each other like the sisters we never had.  we have definately been through alot together, good times and bad, and we`ve stood by each other and supported one another through those times. i couldn`t think of anyone else better suited for the title of ``person i`ve been closest with the longest.``
i think i`ll call her today...

30 day challenge: Day One

and we're off!  day one of the 30 day challenge (i'm not sure why it's called a challenge) and it's supposed to be a picture of yourself with 15 facts.  I did this one not too long ago with 25 random things about me, but i'm sure i can come up with 15 more things.

are you sirius?

i was out for a little drive the other night, i think i was just on my way to the grocery store.  i was all by myself, so of course, i had the tunes cranked and i was listening to the highway on sirius xm satellite radio.
they were right in the middle of the hot 30 live, counting down the hottest country songs of the week.  the announcer was getting ready to introduce the next song, and he had a little announcement about the group.

"... upcoming shows have been postponed for the group for the next few nights in, *insert random california city names here* but don't worry folks, it's not cancelled, just postponed.  New dates will be announced at a later time.  Now, here they are at #26 this week, here's Rascal Flatts with "Why Wait" on the highway"

thanksgiving

this past weekend was our thanksgiving, and i'd like to just give a small list of things i'm thankful for!

- my wonderful husband-

-my beautiful baby boy-

-my family-

-friends-

-the kids i look after-

- to be living in peace-

it's not a big list by any means, but a list none the less.  there's probably more that i'm missing, but as of right now, in this moment.. those are the things i'm most thankful for :)

music always makes me feel better.  i love a good tune.. always have.  growing up, we always listened to country music, and now my tastes vary between country, pop, show tunes, oldies, christian, rock, rap, i just love it all.
i'm borderline obsessed with the show glee, simply because of the music.  man they can sing!
although this song is not from glee, but this happens to be my song of choice at the moment: love the way you lie

it's not eminem singing that gets me.. haha it's the part rihanna sings.. i love it!

broken heart

when you're a mom, stuff hits you differently when you didn't have anyone else you had to think about if something ever happened to you.
over the weekend a young mom and dad were on their way home from a family wedding when they hit a moose.  he died at the scene, she died in hospital the next day.  their 2 year old survived.
this brings back alot of emotions from a year ago, when i was sitting holding my week old baby my mom called to tell me that a young girl from my hometown (who i had grown up with, played sports with, and had just had her make my husband's birthday cake the week before, and who i had just sent an email to thanking her) was killed in an accident and her 3 kids lived.
life is so unfair sometimes that kids have to grow up not knowing their moms, or dads or both.  one of my worst fears is C growing up without me.
i sit here with my eyes filled with tears, my heart broken for all the families that have tragedies such as this happen, and for the children who's lives are forever changed.
